Analog Alchemy is an independent design company based in Munich, Germany. We are a team of experienced, world class analog IC design engineers who can handle your toughest analog IC design challenges, and provide “system aware” solutions. Semiconductor companies in the past have strived to optimize silicon performance and level of integration. System vendors have focused on optimizing their architectures based on available “off the shelf” IC products, and in many cases have had to design around the implementation choices the semiconductor manufacturer has made.

Analog Alchemy’s first class system & ASIC design support has been essential for Infineon to meet the tight schedule to enter the market of high-performance Barometric Pressure Sensors for Mobile, Wearable Gadgets and IoT Devices. The Analog Alchemy team developed the entire Signal-Path comprising MEMS Signal-Conditioning, Reference-Signal Generation, Analog-to-Digital Converter and the DSP algorithm for the first generation ASIC. Each development phase from concept study, system design and architecture development to the circuit & layout implementation has been executed without any delay, meeting all deadlines. Analog Alchemy provided extensive ASIC characterization & LAB evaluation support, which enabled the verification of key performance parameters within one week after Fab-out. First silicon shows full performance of the Signal-Path, exceeding specifications of state of the art competitors at just half the power consumption. The ASIC will go directly into production without any further modifications. The sensor demonstrates a new level of pressure accuracy, equivalent to +/- 5cm resolution in elevation, enabling applications ranging from assisted location, navigation through sport and fitness to real-time weather monitoring.
